11th Skopje Marathon May 10th, 2015

On Saturday morning, on May 9th, a group of Serbian marathon
runners and three Poles headed towards Macedonia. In Belgrade
the decker bus nearly fill. Late in the afternoon
we arrived in Skopje. Travelling through southern Serbia
was interesting. At the border, we are alerted to
unrest in Macedonia. In Kumanovo was a curfew.

We arrived at the Skopje fair, we took
starter packs, pasta party was average,
We were interrupted by a short rain, so we
were eating on the way to the bus. We arrived
to a hostel near downtown. There was
eight of us in the room, among them Pero Stevic from
Subotica. We visited the mall Vero.
I read before going to sleep, I slept badly.

Some marathoners stood up at about 5 AM in the morning.
They rumored, had been preparing themselves, and talk.
I planned to get up around 6 AM. Someone suddenly
said: People marathon is canceled. Unfortunately
this news was true. The police could not
guarantee security, a Macedonian government
was active the night before, and the decision was made.
I even heard later, everyone knew that gossip,
it was about the terrorist attack on the marathon.

I was walking this morning with Stevic Pero at the downtown,
we visited some historical monuments. after
that we did one training by the coastline of Vardar
after a nice hot but sweltering weather. We ran
about an hour and a half, approximately 17 kilometers.
After showering, we have prepared things and headed
to the bus. At 13 hours we headed to Serbia,
and before that I was supplied with Skopje beer and wine.

This was my first visit to Macedonia, it was
Well, the hosts were kind, just
if I ran a marathon. This is so far the only
received medal and a T-shirt that I didnt ran.
