11th ČSOB Bratislava marathon
11th ČSOB Bratislava marathon 04/03/2016. Bratislava Slovakia
My first race and my marathon in Slovakia. Before marathon in Bratislava on Saturday 2nd April, I watched half marathon in Prague. On this journey, from 1st to 4th April I went with Active Treveling, or with Kathy and Lucky. Trip went quite well.
The race day was beautiful, sunny, windy and cold in the morning, while later iy was very hot. Marathon was started in 9 hours, and were running two laps of Bratislava. The start and finish were in front of the shopping moll Eurovea, then one broad boulevard in a circle, and then to Ružinov (something like Novi Beograd or New Settlement). This is a newer block, then in the old part ie. downtown, plus another such circuit. I began to feel smaller fatigue after 15 kilometers, and the best I’ve felt from 10th to 12th kilometers.
The second half of the second round I fell pretty hard, I’ve dropped a rhythm that would eventually arrived me at the finish line by a solid 3:24:43 per chip, while the gross time was 3:26:30 because I started from another starting block. Around 40 kilometers seemed that I will quit, and that I will not run a marathon, but in the end everything ended well.
I met new people, strengthen old friendships and acquaintances, visited the land of the ancestors, visited the Prague and Bratislava fortress, got bags and newspapers, bought books, visited Slovak Pub, strengthened the spirit of panslavism in myself.
This was my 14th marathon success.
