18th Belgrade ultramarathon 09. 20. 2014.

18th Belgrade ultramarathon held on 20 and 21 September 2014.
As part of this event is held self-transcendence races at
6 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours, plus relay race at 12 hours.

I took part in the race at 6 hours.

It was quite difficult, but more or less,
I would say successfully. To participate in this
race I was persuaded by Grgo Skenderović,
known ultramarathon runner from Sricin Moj marathon
team from Subotica. When I planned my races
for this fall, at the end of June he mentioned
this race. It will hopefully serve me
not only as a new experience, but also as
good training before the upcoming
Novi Sad Marathon.

Race at 6 hours was started at noon
September 20th 2014. in the Park of Friendship
at Usce in New Belgrade, with cloudy
but somewhat sultry weather. At 14 h
we were hit by a heavy downpour, and we were wet
along with our equipment. The path was circular,
a circle amounted to 2 kilometers.
I tried to keep an easy pace
and run as long as I can. In the beginning my
pace was about 5 minutes and 30 seconds
per kilometer, but later fell
well above 6 minutes per kilometer.
I pushed myself 24 laps or 49 kilometers
continuously for about 4 hours and 45 minutes
of continuous running, and then I did 4 laps or
8 kilometers combined running and walking.
In addition to pain in the hips toward the end I
felt the possibility of spasm in the left list.
Grgo cheered me around 16 hours
and towards the end gave me a good energy
potion. I thought that circle 28 is my
last one, but then I asked Grgo
how much time left, and when I heard
that there are still 11 minutes I got a
sudden force, despite the start of cramp
I ran 29th round for about 10 minutes
before the expiry time, and at the finish I got
cramp, so Grgo helped me.
After I went for a massage. I was pleased,
I crossed a total of 58 kilometers (29 laps)
I took 8th place out of 30 participants, just
after the famous Drago Boroje, with whom I
met in return and went for a beer.
Im hoping for some more ultra marathons, perhaps
Sombor Baja (I wish fervently).
