22nd Podgorica Marathon
22nd Podgorica Marathon October 25th, 2015.
This was my 11th marathon, after about half of
a year back, finished marathon. Finish of race
was not easy, as usual, but the feeling after
– pure satisfaction was high. My time was
3:26:04, the third best time this year,
and I was pretty happy.
The weather was sunny, slightly warm, and
the temperature was varied during the race 17
to 23 degrees Celsius. At first I was behind
Radovan Radulovic and Dane Jakimovski,
but later I managed to go in front of them.
My pace was slightly too fast during first paart
of the race, betweeb about 4 minutes and 35
seconds to 4 minutes and 40 seconds per kilometer.
A minor crisis has encountered around 25th kilometer,
while the larger was between 35 and 40 kilometers,
when the speed began to drop. Path
makes one big circle: Podgorica – Golubovci
– Mataguži – Tuzi – Podgorica. The place is good for
running, children in the villages are a bit pushy,
but very friendly volunteers.
Before the race I slept well in the military
airport in Golubovci. It was also the
Balkan Championship in the marathon, so I met
Olivera Jevtic, who won with a 2:39:29
in the women’s competition, while our Darko
Zivanovic with 2:23:57 became the Balkan champion.
The journey was difficult because
the bus was oftenly broken.
